Hyundai has begun taking reservations for the Ioniq 3 in the UK, offering a compact electric hatchback with two battery sizes and competitive pricing. The larger 61 kWh battery is expected to deliver up to 308 miles of range, with prices starting at £22,245.
Two Battery Sizes, Four Trim Levels
The Ioniq 3 comes in four trim levels – Advance, Premium, Ultimate, and N Line Evo – each with either a 42.2 kWh or 61 kWh battery. The smaller battery is reserved for the entry‑level Advance version.
The Ioniq 3 Advance with the 42.2 kWh battery starts at £22,245, featuring a 107.8 kW motor with 250 Nm of torque and an expected range of 213 miles. The 61 kWh version of the Advance costs £25,745, combining the larger battery with a 99.5 kW motor and a range of up to 308 miles.
Both powertrains are mounted at the front, delivering a balanced weight distribution that enhances handling in urban environments. While the larger pack supplies more energy, the slightly lower power output of the 61 kWh configuration contributes to the longest real‑world range in the lineup, demonstrating how capacity can outweigh peak output when efficiency is the priority.

Fast Charging and Practical Design
The Ioniq 3 offers a 400‑volt architecture, allowing for fast DC charging up to 119 kW (smaller battery) or 110 kW (61 kWh), with 10‑80 % charging taking around 29‑30 minutes. Both versions have an 11 kW onboard charger for AC charging, along with Plug & Charge and an EV route planner.
This voltage platform aligns with the majority of public fast‑charging networks across Europe, meaning drivers can top up at a wide variety of stations without needing a specialised high‑voltage system. The integrated Plug & Charge feature eliminates the need for a separate payment card, while the route planner dynamically suggests charging stops based on the selected battery and driving conditions, helping to minimise range anxiety.
With a length of 4.15 m and a width of 1.8 m, the Ioniq 3 fits in the B‑segment. Its boot provides 441 litres of space, expanding to 1,213 litres with the rear seats folded.
The vehicle’s wheelbase measures 2.68 m, providing generous legroom for front‑seat occupants and contributing to a stable ride quality despite its compact exterior. Inside, drivers can choose between two digital display sizes: a 12.9‑inch unit for the base configuration and a larger 14.6‑inch screen for the higher trims, both of which serve as the central hub for navigation, media, and vehicle settings.
