Mini Countryman gets rugged new edition - mini countryman
Production starts in November 2026 at BMW Group’s Leipzig facility.

Mini has introduced the Countryman Untamed Edition, a tougher, adventure-ready version of its family SUV. Production is set to start in November 2026 at BMW Group’s Leipzig facility in Germany, with international sales expected to begin in early 2027.

The Untamed Edition features a 15mm lift to the suspension, raising ground clearance by up to 19mm, and comes with bespoke 19-inch alloys and Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres. The ABS, dynamic stability control, and steering have been recalibrated to suit the new setup.

Buyers can opt for all-wheel drive on select models, and an optional tow bar enables trailers of up to 2,000kg. The roof can bear 75kg on the move and 300kg when parked. Mini has also developed a roof tent and other camping gear for this edition.

The Countryman’s exterior has been reworked with a new grille, Dark Steel accents, and a range of color options, including Hideaway Grey, Nomad Blue, and Midnight Black. The cabin features sports seats in perforated upholstery, knitted panels, and a reshaped centre console storage with elastic straps.

The Untamed Edition will be offered in various versions, including C, D, S ALL4, E, and SE ALL4, covering both petrol and electric powertrains. In India, the Countryman is currently available in C, JCW ALL4, and E forms, with the C powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and the E featuring a 64.6kWh battery with a single front motor. Notably, the JCW ALL4 uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol that delivers 300PS and 400Nm, while the C is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol making 156PS and 240Nm.

The electric Countryman E, in particular, boasts an impressive claimed WLTP range of up to 462km, pairing a 64.6kWh battery with a single front motor producing 204PS and 250Nm, making it a viable option for those seeking a balance between adventure and sustainability.
