Triumph has introduced the T40 and T40 Black, expanding its Bonneville lineup into the 350cc class. Both models feature a liquid-cooled 350cc single-cylinder engine developed in partnership with Bajaj. The engine delivers 29 PS at 7,000 rpm and 31.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, with tuning optimized for low-end responsiveness suitable for daily riding. The motor is designed to meet A2 licence requirements and produces a distinctive firing sound through a peashooter silencer.
The T40 equipped with standard electronics includes a four-inch circular TFT display that integrates navigation via the Triumph Navigation App, along with phone and music controls. Riders can switch to an analogue-style Heritage Mode for a classic appearance. Five riding modes, Road, Rain, Eco and two customizable, complement cruise control, cornering-sensitive ABS, traction control, LED lighting, self-cancelling indicators, Emergency Deceleration Warning and a USB-C charging port.
Styling adheres to Bonneville tradition with a teardrop tank, round LED headlight, twin rear shocks and spoked wheels measuring 18-inch front and 17-inch rear. Hand-finished details include brushed aluminium engine covers and coach lining. The standard T40 offers three two-tone color schemes: Aegean Blue with Fusion White, Meriden Blue with Tangerine Orange, or New England White with Jet Black, complemented by chrome mirrors and a brushed steel exhaust. The T40 Black features Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black paint, gloss-black rims and powder-coated engine casings.

Standard equipment includes a centre stand and upper engine protection bars, with service intervals set at 10,000 miles. Launch accessories cover comfort seats and classic panniers.
The T40 joins existing 400cc models including the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, Tracker 400, Thruxton 400 and Speed T4. Triumph says the expanded range helps attract new riders and contributed to record global sales.
